Today's free resources | 15 October 2026. Choose the sheet that suits you. Both are single-page A4 PDFs, free to download, print and use. No account or email address required.

For schools: a five-minute learning conversation

For primary teachers and teaching assistants. Use this sheet alongside a recent piece of work to ask a pupil what they were learning, what they can now do, what helped and what to try next.

How to use it: choose one pupil and one piece of work. Invite them to talk, point, draw or demonstrate. Record their explanation, the evidence and one manageable next step. Use it alongside your other classroom evidence.

For families: make the most of parents' evening

For parents and carers of primary-aged children. Prepare your child's views, choose your priority questions and agree a clear action and follow-up date with the teacher.

How to use it: spend five minutes completing the first two sections before the meeting. Take the sheet with you, note the agreed actions and keep the review date somewhere useful.

Print, use and share

Open your chosen PDF, save a copy and print on A4 at actual size or fit to page. You are welcome to share the sheets with colleagues and other families. Please retain the JLW Consultancy footer.
