Free Place Value Worksheet and Number Bonds Game for Families
Free resources for 17 October 2026. Today's two maths downloads from Williams Consultancy Group are single-page A4 PDFs. Choose the school worksheet or family game below. Both are free, with no sign-up, account or payment required.
For schools: Make 48 four ways
For primary teachers and teaching assistants working with ages 7-10. This ten-minute place-value task asks pupils to represent 48, exchange one ten for ten ones, find addition and subtraction calculations, and explain a common misconception.
Use paper and a pencil, with base-ten equipment if available. Invite pupils to draw, write or explain orally. The sheet includes teacher notes, an easier starting number and an extension asking pupils to find every representation using whole tens and ones.
For families: Number partners - make 10 or 20
For an adult and child aged 5-9. Choose a target of 10 or 20. One player chooses a whole number up to the target; the other finds its partner. For example, 6 and 4 make 10.
Swap roles over five rounds and write the pairs in the recording grid. Then explore what happens to one partner when the other increases by 1. Draw dots or use fingers to help. The sheet includes a target of 5 as an easier option and a challenge to find every pair. There is no timer or score.
Print, use and share
Save the PDF and print on A4 at actual size or fit to page. Both sheets are free to print and share for home and school use. Please retain the branding and website footer.
